After a lovely visit with our family in London it was off to Utrecht to see Mark and Koko and Taishin and Minako. Thanks so much for having us Mike and Gill.
A very easy flight to Amsterdam and then a direct train to Utrecht where we walked from the station to Chez Purdy. Wow. Great apartment. So big and so central.
We spent the next day in Gouda visiting the cheese market and then we happened upon the cathedral and were entranced by the detailed audio tour and stained and painted glass windows.
Dinner was at a local Greek restaurant on a canal. Super food. Great company.
Mark took the next day off and we cycled to de Haar castle. I had an e-bike so was quite happy. Tony and Mark shared an e-bike and a regular bike 🥺
What a beautiful experience. The grounds and buildings were impressive and immaculate. The cycle home was only slightly less fraught than the inbound trip. I have a lot to learn about cycling in the Netherlands. Who knew cycling without a helmet was legal?
