Today we took a long walk to the botanical gardens - not the biggest in the world but certainly the oldest continuous gardens in the world.  A green haven in the midst of the old city where there is not a lot of green space.

We wandered through the back streets in and out of shops just taking it all in.  I found my new favourite gelato flavour - pink grapefruit!  We found a little ristorante with a hidden courtyard where we had a light lunch with a beer as it was a warm day.

Followed the river home again for a siesta before finding another ristorante close to home for an exquisite dinner.  Risotto followed by seared tuna florentine style. Another glorious day in Firenze.
