Tony and I have dreamed of doing the Swiss Rail Journey - travelling through Switzerland on their amazing rail network and, here we are .. InInterlaken on the first leg. What an exquisite place.
It does help that we have perfect weather - the high peaks have snow but the days are warm. We took the funicular rail up the mountain - 7 minutes straight up and what a view,
We hiked up for another few kms and had lunch in the forest overlooking Interlaken. Lots of exercise today.
We are staying at the Hotel Interlaken with a magnificent view from our room. We are also opposite a beautiful church - who knew the bells would peal on the hour all night long! Thank goodness for double glazing.
A quiet dinner in with a bottle of Pinot Noir. Living the dream!!!
